Stand Outs – Help Get Out The Vote

This coming election—Tuesday, November 3—will be critical in reclaiming our democracy. We need to ensure that people vote in large numbers. Anything else would be a historic disaster. So, organizations all over the country are urging people to vote. And we in Sudbury will be doing so as well. Although we are not formally affiliated with any other group, we are part of the same movement, with the same goal.

We’re going to have a series of stand-outs as follows:

  • Oct. 17, Saturday 10-11 AM Sudbury Town Common (in front of Town Hall)
  • Oct. 17, Saturday 12-1 PM Shaw’s Plaza (Rte. 20 sidewalk and parking lot)
  • Oct. 22, Thursday 4-5 PM Shaw’s
  • Oct. 23, Friday 4-5 PM Sudbury Town Common
  • Oct. 24, Saturday 12-1 PM Soccer Fields at Haskell
  • Oct. 29, Thursday 4-5 PM Shaw’s
  • Oct. 30, Friday 4-5 PM Sudbury Town Common

The first of these stand-outs is on the first day of early voting. Early voting will be particularly important for those of us who are concerned about possible ICE presence on election day.

At each of the stand-outs for early voting we will have three signs; each sign held by one person:

VOTE NOW – EARLY VOTING IS OPEN

SUDBURY TOWN HALL – October 17-30

MORE INFO AND HOURS – at Town Hall Website – https://sudbury.ma.us

And in addition, it is fine—and we encourage everyone—to make and bring your own sign with your own message about any of many specific outrages. Addressing these issues straight-on is great.

We are trying to protect our democracy and elect people who will do that. We want messages that will move people and encourage them to vote.

And come anyway! We need people to participate with us in this. Including you. And your friends—ask them! Here’s where to sign up:

…or just come.
